To deliver and protect talkterm.app, technical request data such as your IP address, timestamp, requested path, user agent, and response status is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in secure, reliable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Server logs are kept only as long as needed for operational security or legal obligations.
Cloudflare provides DNS, security, and delivery services and may receive this request data. Transfers outside the EEA are protected by the safeguards described in the Cloudflare Data Processing Addendum.
We use our self-hosted Rybbit instance for simple, cookie-free website analytics. It records page views, referrers, browser and device type, and outbound-link events so we can understand whether the website is useful. Connection data is processed transiently to derive coarse location and a salted pseudonymous visitor identifier; the IP address itself is not retained by Rybbit.
Rybbit runs on our own server in Germany. Session replay, form input, copied text, button clicks, advertising identifiers, and cross-site tracking are disabled. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring and improving this website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The website sets no analytics cookies and has no advertising or user accounts.
TalkTerm app
TalkTerm sends no terminal, SSH, voice, or usage data to us. SSH traffic runs directly between your device and the host you select. Private keys and host fingerprints stay in Apple Keychain; connection metadata and preferences stay locally on your device.
Microphone audio is written only to a temporary app-cache file for on-device transcription and is deleted after transcription. The transcript remains in memory and reaches the active SSH session only when you choose Insert or Send, or when you explicitly enable immediate sending.
The on-device speech model is downloaded only after your action. WhisperKit currently obtains that model from Argmax's public Hugging Face repository, so the download provider receives the technically necessary request data.
Apple and support email
Apple independently processes App Store downloads and purchases under its privacy policy. We do not receive payment-card data.
If you email us, we process your address, message, and attachments to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). We retain them until the request is resolved and for any applicable legal retention period.
Your rights
Where applicable, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. You may complain to a data protection authority, including the LDI NRW. Email [email protected] to exercise your rights.
Providing data is voluntary. Technical request data is necessary only to deliver the website. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
